Home Sweet Home, Glad that's over!

Not that I didn't enjoy myself, but trying to convince my family to cut back on the sugar and lay off the highly processed food is a stressful task. My grandmother still bought bagged stuffing, and the gravy was also canned.  I'm not sure what was in the green bean casserole, but I'm sure it was canned mushroom soup and those shredded onions that come in a cardboard can.

Of course, these are all things that I really like and as a Christian, I should just eat what is set in front of me, so I took a very little bit of everything - and a lot of the autumn soup that I had contributed.  I also used made Apricot upside down cake using this cake recipe.  Mike made a pumpkin pie with pre-made organic spelt crust.  Even though both are fairly high in sugar, I did have one of each.

I did have a mild sugar crash on the way home, so I know I didn't do so bad.  Hopefully, at Christmas brunch, I'll be more prepared and have a few more items that I can eat without crashing later - at all.

In the meantime, and until then, I will be "detoxing".  As a matter of fact, I don't plan on doing anything today and I will go to bed early.  And tomorrow, I'll revert back to my protein-type diet that I'm supposed to be on.
