Time eliminate all of my stuff. For the longest time, most of our stuff that we didn't use or might have used if it weren't at the bottom of the pile, was stored in our storage room. Well, due to a family emergency (i.e. their house sold much faster than expected), we turned our storage room into a spare bedroom.
What happened to all that stuff? It's in our new storage room - formally known as our dining room.
Nothing like a "family emergency" to force you to come to terms with the fact that you are a terrible pack rat. Not that I'm attached to any of this stuff. I think I wouldn't have a problem with hauling it all to the dump - if it weren't for the waste/environmental factor.
I would even just dump it all at the nearest salvation army, but I also know that some of that stuff isn't resellable. So there goes my conscience in thinking how many wasted volunteer hours going through those boxes that could have been used to actually do something useful, like helping the poor.
So, I've scheduled a day to tackle the stuff. Tuesday, to be exact. Monday's are reserved for weekend catch-up. I usually try not to do much on Sundays except relax with the kids. So on Monday's I usually catch up with laundry and dishes and basic cleaning.
I will probably fall behind again on Tuesday. I may have my husband pick up some paper plates an cups to keep the dishes down and make sure that ALL of the laundry is done on Monday.
I'll have to convince my husband to try to keep the kids outside... If it's not raining. If that happens, I'll have to go to plan B - whatever plan B is...
