Humans love to make things hard for themselves. One excellent example is when I was working at Lowes in Indiana and I had just brought in a small shipment that took up a small cart. Since it wasn't busy and there were many small flat carts around, I took two with me - one for my shipment and another for someone to take instead of the one I was using (this has happened before).
The empty cart was only an arm's length from the cart that I was using, and yet, while I was helping out a customer that required me to leave my stock, somebody emptied the cart for their own use and left the empty cart - still there, waiting to be used.
Some people work so hard to be lazy.
However, nothing is more evident of this than the english language. I mean the "sss" sound can be created by two letters? One, of course, is "S" the other is "C" and only if it is preceded by "I" or "E". "C" also sounds like "K" any other time. The only reason "C" is really useful is "CH" as in church. I don't understand why in worse like "pounce" cannot be spelled like "pounse".
Then there is "G". Why does "G" have to sound like "J" under weird circumstances? G does indeed have it's own sound as in the word "goat". But why can't "Magic" be spelled like "majik"?
And there are the letters "X" and "Q". Why can't "box" be spelled "boks" and "quick" be spelled "Kwik"? Then there's words like "night". "Nite" seems to be sufficient to get the point across.
Don't get me started on the letter "Y"
The kwestion is, Wie is it that we always do it the hard waee? Wile we think we are dooing les wurk, we ar aktuallee making mor wurk for ourselves.
Of course that looks silly to us now, but if we actually learned how to write that way, we wouldn't have known the difference.
Perhaps I should delve into how strange the english language really is, but I think this link says a lot: http://www.ahajokes.com/ethnic08.html
