Drinking water...

My husband and I went to Rutland today, missing the midwife. We need a cell phone. Really. She's supposed to be here tomorrow instead of us going there - again.

Anyway, one of the stores we went to was Biglots. I purchased some water there called "Arctic Blue". I'm sure this is a Biglots brand. As I drank about half of it, I decided to read the ingredients (you never know...). They read:

Purified Water
Calcium Carbonate
Purified by Reverse Osmosis.

Translation: Filtered tap water, crushed marble.

Well, that explains why my heartburn flare-up actually went away after drinking this water. Tums is mostly calcium carbonate.

What? You don't believe me that calcium Carbonate is crushed marble?

Check out this site:
OMYA North America - calcium carbonate, white minerals, chemical distributor, chemicals distribution, chalk, marble, limestone, GCC, PCC

Now, we have a plant here in Florence VT, which does calcium carbonate for paint and other non-edible products since it isn't FDA approved for human consumption. Vermont is very high in marble...
