We need snow tires

We went the shorter way to church. Of course this meant that we had to take the "back roads". Most of these roads aren't plowed, just sanded. So the usually pothole riddled dirt roads were actually smooth because of all the snow that's been packed into the potholes. Perhaps a little too smooth.

Fortunately, we didn't slide. The automatic traction control on the van kicked in a few times. Combined that with the sand that was put down (not much, but enough to make a difference), we made it in one piece.

Nonetheless, we came back on route 73. It's about 15 minutes longer than the "short" way but this time it was about the same amount of time.

A lot of people were out this thanksgiving, bringing our attendance down. It's not like we couldn't notice, after all a "full house" (since this is a home church, that actually has some real meaning to it) is 12 adults. If ONE person is missing, then we notice. This time, we had only 7.

The kids were really hyper this morning. The only thing that they have been eating that could have triggered this type of hyperactivity were some Milano cookies from Pepperidge Farms - yesterday. Usually they're just hyper about a half an hour after having any type of junk food. By the next day they're usually over it.

My only guess is that it has been a little cold and they haven't been outside in a while. It could be that my sister has been here, creating a little excitement or maybe they just seem more hyper because I am easily stressed out - thanks to the fact that I'm in the last "leg" of my pregnancy. Maybe...
