This is a blog of a happily married, stay-at-home mom of five kids. Expect mostly everything here.

I went shopping today for groceries. I usually don't like shopping on Tuesdays, mainly because a lot of groceries that I buy isn't shipped until Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately, the milk that I always buy wasn't there. So now I have to go tomorrow. My sister, who is visiting until Friday wants to come along.

My husband wants to make pumkin pies with the two older kids tomorrow. So I guess he'll keep them busy and they won't miss me.

That's okay, since I don't have much to get tomorrow, I should only be gone for a couple of hours (it takes 30 min one way). I'll only be taking the youngest and my sister will be taking my nephew so it won't take long to shop. They'll both be sitting in the cars.

Around 3:00 pm, we all went to my mother's house for dinner (and visiting). My grandmother was leaving tomorrow and I thought it would be nice to see her before she goes. She seems tired and appearantly, her shingles are gone. Interestingly enough, she realized that changing her diet would help her to overcome them faster. Funny, it was only until her doctor told her to modify her diet (only a little) to help her speed her recovery that she did. Now she is a believer. I guess you can't be too old to change your way of thinking. Although now she thinks it's a moot point, since she is already past 70.

I'm still working on avoiding all sugar. This is difficult since my husband loves to have some treats. Today he bought Rice Crispies. If you read the ingredients, "sugar" is the second ingredient and "high fructose corn syrup" is the third. Yeah, that "harmless", "unsweetened" cereal has a lot of sweetners in it.

However, that's not the end of it. He bought it, not for breakfast, but to make "Rice Crispy Squares". Talk about adding insult to injury. As if the pumpkin pies aren't bad enough.

That's okay. I'm not upset. I'll just find more ways of keeping him from going shopping like some sort of emergancy that he HAS to be home right away, thus preventing him from having a chance to stop at the store on the way home.

Now if only I can come up with some ideas...

But not tonight.
