I've been lacking in the blogging department. I have been busy learning more about flash editing as well as tying up loose ends on my website. I don't usually blog on Sundays, but I thought I would at least do that much this week.
The kids were sick this week, making time for blogging very limited. I barely kept the house clean, let alone do any extra work. The youngest, was sick first. She had a fever for most of the day and some of the evening.
The other two were sick on the same day, two days after. The youngest was clingy for the rest of the week as well so getting work done with her attatched to my leg was a little difficult.
Fortunately, none of them were sick more than 12 hours. The only thing I gave them that was remomotely "medicinal" was pedialite because I worried about dehydration. Other than that, I gave them orange juice (with pulp and calcium). None of them wanted to eat during that time, so I let them be in that regard. At least they didn't want anything that had sugar in it. That may have made things worse.
My husband had last night off and ended up sleeping until 4:30 in the morning. Considering that he normally works third shift, that's very late. But he got up and decided to scrape the edge of the tub - a project he thought would only take him an hour or so.
Our bathtub, which is a little larger than the kitchen sink (okay, it's not that small, but I couldn't have one of those relaxing soaks in it), had some sort of "trim" stuck around the edges of the tub, between the tub and the wall. It was stuck on with some sort of chewing gum - or what looks like chewing gum. Whatever it was, it didn't do a good job at holding it there. The trim mostly fell off and the edges of the tub began to rust.
My husband had to take off what's left of the trim and scape off the "gook" with a razor. I guess that stuff was pretty nasty. He broke a couple of blades trying to scrape it off.
The job still isn't finished. The kids will have to skip another night of bathtime tomorrow.
We ended up leaving for our church group a little later than I wanted. We made it just in time to study, again. It would be nice if we could be there a little sooner to chat with the rest. At least we stay for coffee and snacks. Although, I usually don't eat any snacks because they are usually pretty processed - as in boxed sticky buns and boxed mix muffins. Things that if I were to eat, would cause me headaches and a sleepless night.
So I would let the kids have a little snack. And I would chat with the adults. There's a teenager there who would play with the kids, so it's nice to actually have an adult conversation with like-minded adults at least once a week.
One of the members are our next door neighbors. It's funny, we don't chat that much during the week - if at all. But come Sunday, it's difficult to leave because we end up talking up a storm with them. This week, we decided to really try to have a weekly Bible study so that we CAN chat like that.
Sometimes someone who has the same interests as you are right next door to you and you would never know it.
