Nothing annoys me more when someone gets away with being childish. My parents ended up losing $5000 because they didn't have the money to continue with the legal feet dragging that this woman did.
Don't want someone to buy the land next to you? Just keep applying for legal "violations" even if there are no violations being committed. That way, if there are too many deadlines passed, the property may no longer be suitable for building.
If VT didn't pass the crappy law that takes effect July 1st (that will NOT attract more families with young children) my parents would have been able to build there in spite of this woman's temper tantrums and legal delays. As a matter of fact, they would have been able to eventually have her fined for causing problems in the legal system (I won't get into detail with that here).
Unfortunately, my parents are out $5000, and she gets her way. If we had the money, we would buy the property ourselves and rent it to groups like "Harleys across America". Then she would have WISHED my parents moved there instead.
*sigh*
It turns out that the owner does have a lawyer brother. Maybe he can find compensation for loss of sale, since the property is no longer sellable. At least not for the price he wants to sell it for.
