Actually, we got back from Virginia yesterday morning, but I was in a huge fog. I spent most of the day editing my front page on my website and today, I've been trying to solve a problem with my computer (what else is new).
The kids did pretty well. We estimated about 14 hours one way due to stopping for bathroom breaks, nursing, and all the other problems you get when you take a long trip with kids. However, aside from only two baby nursing breaks, none of the projected problems happened. As a result, we only took 9 hours to get there.
On the way back, we took almost 12 hours, mostly because we tried to take a detour around an accident, missed our turn, then spent 35 minutes wondering if we missed our turn. Then checking the maps and realizing that yes, we did miss our turn, but there is another way back. After finding our way back, we lost 45 minutes.
Then we stopped a little more, including 4 bathroom breaks, and a breakfast break, but all-in-all, the trip went pretty well.
Now we have to clean the van, but I think we will wait until it is a little warmer. That might wait until this spring.
