The very last nice day...

It's been a mild fall this year. Typically, we have some snow on the ground at this time of year, or at least it is just above freezing. While we had some really cold nights (even freezing), it hasn't been like that during the day.

It was so mild that the sugar maples never changed to their glorious redish orange color this year. So all we saw this year was yellow and green - then just brown. Especially after that noreaster we got earlier this year. The leaves never fell off. Needless to say, we had a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards. Branches were everywhere.

Unfortunately, today is the last "nice" day we will have in a while. It was 56 degrees F. I spent the afternoon cleaning the balcony and filling pots with soil as well as getting an Earthbox ready for an indoor garden. I'm going to try to have some fresh greens this year as well as some fresh herbs. Perhaps, if we don't sell the house next year, we can turn the balcony into a "green room". So that next winter, I can have more of an extensive indoor garden - or at least a place to put my odd herb collection like my stevia, ginger, and patchouli.

Maybe I'll pick up a tea tree at "Weed Farm Herbs". Um, no - not that kind of weed. That's illegal.

Anyway, there's supposed to be a blizzard tomorrow afternoon. Joy of all joys. I ordered a free range turkey and it's supposed to be in tomorrow. Since it's fresh, they would prefer if we were to pick it up on the same day that it is delivered.

I hope that the blizzard holds off a little while...

I better check the weather.
